Double-winning Whitten signs up for Sandy Park 20th Anniversary Dinner
Exeter Chiefs’ 2020 double winning champion and double centurion, Ian Whitten, has signed up to attend September’s 20th Anniversary Dinner for Sandy Park.
The Ulsterman, who pulled on the Chiefs shirt 280 times in an 11-year Exeter career, joins former club captain Dean Mumm in being the latest names added to an impressive list of past players making the journey back to Devon for the celebration.
Whitten said: “I’m looking forward to coming back to a stadium full of such fond memories. Exeter is a great rugby club and somewhere I enjoyed a lot of good times with truly good people. It should be a great evening and one I’m proud to be a part of.”
Whitten was beloved by fans as a no-nonsense, hard-hitting centre for Chiefs who played in four Premiership finals, winning two titles, as well as starting Chiefs famous Champions Cup win over Racing 92 in 2020.
Those titles will surely be including in an evening full of reminiscing. Former player and Sandy Park’s event partner Chris Bentley will have things running smoothly, introducing hilarious tales, welcoming familiar faces and encouraging guests to enjoy their five-course meal beautifully prepared by in-house, award-winning chef Craig Beacham.
Tickets start at £130 or from £1,250 for a table of 10. Please contact head of business development and partnerships Emily Jackson at sp20@sandypark.co.uk to find out more details or book here.
