Vets South returns to Sandy Park

Veterinary surgeons and nurses from all parts of the country descended on Exeter’s award-winning Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting Centre for the latest Vets South Exhibition 2017.

As part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD), delegates over the two-day event were able to enhance their learning and knowledge processes through the plethora of daily sessions and extensive exhibition that is on offer.

Now into it's third year at Sandy Park, organisers were delighted with the latest turnout, welcoming in the region of 300 delegates over the two days.

David Ritchie, Editor of Veterinary Practice, said: “As is the way these days with ever-changing technology and procedures, events such as these are fantastic for the many veterinary surgeons and nurses out there.

“Because all of them are so busy it can often be a struggle for them to keep up with all the latest information and practices within the industry, but by bringing them together for events such as this it really does helps.

“Over the course of the year veterinary surgeons and nurses are required to carry out at least 35 hours as part of their Continuing Professional Development, so by attending events such as the one at Sandy Park can help to cover a lot of those hours.

"Each year the event seems to get even bigger and better, helping us not only to deliver a fantastic event, but at the same time provide high quality and informative courses which ultimately help everyone in terms of their professional development."

As welcoming a large number of delegates from the South West itself, others came from as far afield as Norfolk and the South East.

With a large number of the delegates coming from the South West itself, Mr Ritchie said Sandy Park offered the ideal location for the event.

“I cannot praise Sandy Park enough," he said. "This is our third year of staging the event in Exeter and each year we continue to grow in size. Not only is the venue hugely accessible, but the various rooms within the building allow us to put on so many different activities for all of our guests."

As well as staging Vets South, organisers also hold a similar event in the North at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester.
